These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of StoryShort ("StoryShort," "the App," "we," "us," or "our"), an AI-powered video generation mobile application. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use StoryShort. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the App with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
2. Description of Service
StoryShort allows users to generate short videos using AI, based on user-selected templates, text prompts, uploaded reference images, and uploaded or generated audio. Features, templates, and output quality may change over time as we update the App.
3. User Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to keep it up to date.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User Content
4.1 Your Content
"User Content" means any prompts, images, audio, or other material you upload or submit to the App. You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant StoryShort a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, process, reproduce, and transmit that content — including to third-party AI processing providers — solely for the purpose of operating the App and generating your requested video output.
4.2 Generated Content
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and any applicable subscription terms, you may use the videos generated through the App ("Generated Content") for personal or commercial purposes. You are responsible for ensuring your use of Generated Content complies with applicable law, including third-party rights.
4.3 Content Restrictions
You agree not to upload, generate, or distribute content that:
- Infringes any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights;
- Is illegal, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or sexually exploitative of minors;
- Depicts real individuals without their consent in a misleading, harassing, or non-consensual manner (including non-consensual intimate imagery or deceptive "deepfake" content);
- Promotes violence, hatred, discrimination, or harm against any individual or group;
- Contains malware or attempts to disrupt or exploit the App or its underlying AI services;
- Violates any applicable local, national, or international law.
We reserve the right to remove content and/or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions, at our discretion.
5. Templates and Intellectual Property
All templates, App design, branding, software, and underlying technology are the property of StoryShort or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license granted to use the App and your Generated Content, no rights are transferred to you.
6. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
- StoryShort offers optional premium features through in-app purchases and/or auto-renewing subscriptions, billed and processed via Google Play Billing.
- Prices, billing cycles, and included features will be displayed within the App prior to purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, in accordance with Google Play's policies.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play account settings.
- Refunds are handled in accordance with Google Play's refund policies; we do not directly process refunds outside of that platform except where required by law.
- We reserve the right to change pricing or premium feature offerings, with reasonable notice where required by law.
7. AI-Generated Output Disclaimer
Video generation relies on artificial intelligence models, including third-party AI providers. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated output may be imperfect, unpredictable, or occasionally inaccurate, low-quality, or unexpected;
- StoryShort does not guarantee any specific output, quality level, or generation time;
- You are solely responsible for reviewing Generated Content before publishing or distributing it.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer or decompile the App; use automated means to access the App beyond normal use; interfere with the App's operation or security; resell or redistribute App access without authorization; or use the App in a manner that violates any applicable law or third-party right.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORYSHORT AND ITS DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StoryShort and its developer from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by applicable local law based on the developer's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer protection law provides otherwise. (Add your specific country/state of jurisdiction here before publishing.)
